Series of SMSes exchanged between GM & me yesterday-

GM: Cab feed high k noon s tut x
Me: What?
GM: Yup..You have to guess what it is!
Me: Wtf??
GM: Want a blue, I mean clue?
Me: silence
GM: The last sms was a clue
Me: Ok, you have officially lost it.
GM: Ha so you give up so soon?
Me: Yeah yeah
GM:Cmon you can do it!
Me: No!
GM: Give up? Damn shame!
Me: Yeah, man
GM: Just out of college and those little grey cells are already dying out, eh?
Me: You cook up some nonsense and expect me to make sense out of it?
GM: Exactly what someone said to Einstein.
Me: Aaaargh why did I ever tell you about dictionary?

The sheer pointlessness of it- you pity me don't you?
If you want to know what the sms that started it all is all about, each word is the longest that can be created by pressing a single key. Stare at your keypads for a while, all will make sense.

And can you guess how old GM is??

Is this some esoteric Nokia thing? Doesn't seem to work on my old Motoroller.

And General More-terse, I'm guessing, is around 29. (Why? Because 29 has a nice ring to it, that's why.)

Doesn't your Moto have T9 dictionary? If it doesn't then I'll probably have to explain it to you in person, and believe me it's not worth it :P And I hope the phone you're getting soon will be a Nokia?

29? Nah you're off by about 20 years. I was hoping someone'd say 15 or something, considering how juvenile the whole exchange was.
Men...what can I say?

Getting myself a motorola again :P

wow.

you actually transcripted the messages.

T9 doesn't know any profanity. pity.

Eyefry: But Motorola's awful! Bad battery, bad software, bad everything! Why anyone would NOT want a Nokia is a great mystery to me.
Antickpix: What's the big deal about that?

Nina said...

Antickpix :Yeah, pity about the profanity. But it learns pretty quickly, so...

Motos have more value for money, better looks, nicer graphics, and are much more user-friendly. And besides, I've used every generation of Motorola between 2000 and now. Old habits...

Funny post :D. I reckon he's 52 years, 7 months and 14 days old/young!

And about the spam. That is one opinion that every single blogger has got wrong. Comment spam does not target all blogs, only certain kinds.

Also, Verification is annoying, time wasting and really repels users from your blog. Check this out. http://chronotron.wordpress.com/2006/03/30/rant-i-hate-image-verification/

I would request you to try out w/o verification for one/2 days. Not a single spam will come... But more comments will.

Eyefry: What are you talking about?? Nokias are about 100 times more user-friendly than Motos! My mother's got a MotoRazr, and it's the MOSY annoying phone in the world... Good looks, yes, that's the only advantage of owning a Motorola. And all Nokias (except for a couple of new models) use the same charger- a huge plus that.
Oh well, can't help it if you're a Moto fan :)

Chrono: Got spammed, and that's why I turned word verification on. Maybe I'll turn it off for a while and see what happens. Hmm..

Nina said...

Chrono: Heh, almost there, off by a few years still.

Ah, no big deal. I just hate transcripting.

And though I have no loyalties towards mobile phones, I've only ever used Nokia (ok, had only 2 phones. Lost the first, second for 2.5 yrs and counting). Dunno abt menus etc etc, but I've dropped my phone >100 times. Takes a lickin' but keeps on tickin'.

Nina said...

Antickpix: Since you've only used Nokia, you'll find everything else terribly unfriendly. Have dropped mine countless times too. It even has a crack running across the screen, but works just fine. Not sure if other brands can match Nokia's sturdiness.

In Motorola's defence, eye's bro's phone can oscillate when standing on the ground.

Nina said...

Oscillate when standing on the ground?
Is this similar to the cool rotation that any Nokia on vibrate mode can do when it's placed on a flat surface?

eyefry said...

No, no, it's more like a pendulum, y'see. It stands upright and swings back and forth. You have to see it to believe it. As for the vibration-rotation, it does that too. So there!, Boo-yah!, etc.
