Hmm... I arrived at said 'assertion' many years ago, when I was still a teenager. You know, one of those theories you detachedly formulate when you're feeling particularly cynical, and not out of personal experience :) Only now that I'm older (and one hopes, wiser), it's not a theory anymore, but reality-not necessarily one I've had to face so far. The sooner one accepts reality, the better off one is, yes? Make any sense to you? :)

Bad day at work?
NO :) just figured now's as good a time as any to make above assertion.
Strong stuff. I'm still reeling under the weight of above assertion. May I ask what the underlying rationale might be (and whereof extracted)?

In theory, sure. Personally, Reality's an occupational hazard that I hope I'll never have to deal with. Best ignored or subverted.
Not that I'm not happy for you. I am, really ;)
I see that you keep Reality at arm's length.
Subverting better than ignoring, IMO.
And I'm so touched that you're happy for me :P
