Ok, all you men out there, how many of you think the following?

(i)women pee backwards

(ii)women use sanitary napkins because they don't have bladder control

(iii)the unnatural sheen on Padma Laksmi's cheeks is imparted not by make-up, but by liberal use of moisturiser(!)? [1]

All this from A, a friend who has more close female friends than male. If his perception is so warped (although to me it sounds plain stupid- is that unfair?), what about the rest?

[1] This is interesting. A was most upset when informed that Padma cakes her face with make-up. He refused to believe us (before coming up with the moisturiser explanation). So men don't like the idea of women wearing make-up, even while being unable to tell the difference between a heavily made-up face from one that's devoid of any paint? Subliminially do they prefer a made-up face? Probably if a lot of lipstick is involved. Yes? No?

My take. 'A' (i sure know who A is :)) was just bluffing to keep his reputation for innocence intact.

iii - heck, it cud be anything. but she sure does glow, doesnt she ?

A has a reputation for innocence? Really? Maybe in A.C.tech?

Anyway, he wasn't bluffing. We had a rather long, involved and rather hilarious conversation on the matter.

Sure, she's hot. But it was amusing to hear A protest vehemently when told that Psdma wears a lot of make-up. Moisturiser indeed. Men are so simple minded sometimes, heh.

hmph. i get grief from people because i supposedly slather on too much lip-balm. bitches.

sigh, you never come around no more. and didn't mail me abt that thing from the last post either. :'( i'm pouting now.

Heh, lip balm. I've wondered how most men seem to live without it. and moisturiser, too.

Aww, I read all your posts, I do! Just that I don't seem to have much to say these days, hmmm... I've been meaning to email you for quite some time now. Especially since you've disappeared from orkut!

hah. funnily enough, the one other thing i get grief about is that 'he's always rubbing cream on his face in the morning'.

this coming from a guy who, last year, didn't wash his undies for a month. ew.

Nina said...

Why should anyone give you grief if you rubbed cream into your face?!

Wait, how many pairs of chuddies does this person own? *prays it's somewhere near 30*

Men are so strange.

visiting you blog after years, and loved this post! fortunately, i'm cleared on the first two, and i haven't given the third one any thought at all.
though i was tempted to ask which cheeks you're talking about? since its padma lakshmi, surely the question is justified

oh and make-up on women - very cool, esp. eyeliner.
